Not very thick.
Any body have any experience with how long can a passenger can last on the oem pillion?
How about a Corbin gunfighter? any better?

How about a Corbin gunfighter? any better?
There is absolutely no way a passenger is better off on the gunfighter than oem seat. The gunfighter was meant for solo riding, the passenger section of that seat is hard, narrow and rounded off. It was never meant to be used as a seat, just to flow with the lines of the bike. If your plan to do 2up riding, buy the touring seat, go custom, or use a company like meancitycycles.com to redo your seat.

You may be alright on the stock pillion if it's that short of a ride. I would say try it first, stay close to home but see how she feels after about an hour on it, then decide from there. I hate spending money if I don't need to, the reason I upgraded to the corbin was because I sometimes take long trips to FL or north GA. If my rides weren't more than 2 hours long, I'd never bother with upgrading.

But if you're going 2up, you need the corbin touring seat, not the gunfighter. Sorry. :)

I took my air hawk off to see if the seat was as bad as people have said. I put the Airhawk on when I picked up the bike at the dealer and have never ridden without it. First it was hard to get used to sitting and inch or more lower, second, the seat is HARD. Airhawk will never again leave its place on the OEM seat. I recommend it to anyone.

I have an Air Hawk and also a ProPad gel pad. My wife uses one or the other for 1- 2 hr trips over the stock pillion seat.

I went to Daytona bike week in 13' on my Victory with a Russell Day Long from CT. We rode the Blueridge Parkway down and I took 95 home. Spent 10 hour days on the RDL and it was great.
You cant get a passenger backrest with the RDL so that is the downside. That is why I bought the Corbin.

Thank you for the pictures. I have purchased Mutazu Hard saddle bags RS. I also have the factory Honda mounts and stays . I think I will have to re position the rear signal lights as to not interfere with the access to the passengers foot peg

I'm using an air hawk, but will have my seat rebuilt once the snow starts and the Valk goes into storage. I can do about 30 minutes to an hour on the stock seat, 4-6 hours with an air hawk before it gets painful. I want to do a couple of iron butt rides next year.

I had the stock seat...horrible...20 minutes and I could already feel it was going to be a bad situation. Now I have a corbin gunfighter and have done over an hour on it...but it is pretty hard so I am not sure how far I could really go with it. I may try an airhawk or some beads on top of the corbin. Having the backrest certainly helps. I may have the stock seat done by Laam or Russel, but it's not a pressing issue at the moment. I don't ride as often or as far as I would like at the moment...and I have no big rides I am planning anytime soon. I only have about 250 miles on the bike at the moment. All of those with the corbin. So maybe I need to wait til it breaks in to decide. I love the looks of the corbin though.

I thought of getting the Gunfighter, but I was told it's not really intended for a passenger, and this is the only bike my wife will ride on. There are a lot of local places that rebuild seats, so I'm going that route. I have close to 3k on the Valk, just did around 400 miles Saturday in the cold and rain. I was really happy to have the Air Hawk for that one!

Not yet winter here. I put it on the bike this morning feels great! The driver's seat is cut down an inch. The pillion was raised an inch and a half. I then had an inch and a half of memory foam and gel sandwiched into the seat and new vynal covers put on. Ill get more pictures on soon
