How about a Corbin gunfighter? any better?
There is absolutely no way a passenger is better off on the gunfighter than oem seat. The gunfighter was meant for solo riding, the passenger section of that seat is hard, narrow and rounded off. It was never meant to be used as a seat, just to flow with the lines of the bike. If your plan to do 2up riding, buy the touring seat, go custom, or use a company like meancitycycles.com to redo your seat.

You may be alright on the stock pillion if it's that short of a ride. I would say try it first, stay close to home but see how she feels after about an hour on it, then decide from there. I hate spending money if I don't need to, the reason I upgraded to the corbin was because I sometimes take long trips to FL or north GA. If my rides weren't more than 2 hours long, I'd never bother with upgrading.

But if you're going 2up, you need the corbin touring seat, not the gunfighter. Sorry. :)

I took my air hawk off to see if the seat was as bad as people have said. I put the Airhawk on when I picked up the bike at the dealer and have never ridden without it. First it was hard to get used to sitting and inch or more lower, second, the seat is HARD. Airhawk will never again leave its place on the OEM seat. I recommend it to anyone.

I have an Air Hawk and also a ProPad gel pad. My wife uses one or the other for 1- 2 hr trips over the stock pillion seat.

I went to Daytona bike week in 13' on my Victory with a Russell Day Long from CT. We rode the Blueridge Parkway down and I took 95 home. Spent 10 hour days on the RDL and it was great.
You cant get a passenger backrest with the RDL so that is the downside. That is why I bought the Corbin.

That would be an Iron Butt ride, did you keep all of your gas receipts?

I did one a few years back but never submitted everything...
Yes Suthrncop66, I kept all of my receipts. The IBA sent me this:

I've ridden over 70 Certified Iron Butt rides from 1000 miles in one day, through a bunch of 1500 mile days all the way up to 11,000 miles in 11 days on the Iron Butt Rally. I've ridden big days on maybe 15 bikes .

This ride was the smoothest.:)

bscrive. Do you have any pictures of your saddle bags and how you mounted them? I have bought the same ones in flat Black but have not installed them yet. Did you move or replace your rear signal lights?
Here you go. I just was your post.

I relocated the signal lights using a 1" flat bar bent on each end. You can see that in the 2nd picture.

Thank you for the pictures. I have purchased Mutazu Hard saddle bags RS. I also have the factory Honda mounts and stays . I think I will have to re position the rear signal lights as to not interfere with the access to the passengers foot peg
