Hi to all. This past Thursday rode to a city 2-3 hours away. Coming home rode for a couple hours in rain/sleet. Stopped for fuel about an hour from home. About 10 minutes after hitting the road again my check engine light came on. Uh-oh! Now what? Checked my oil and it was good. Started the bike again and light was off. After 3-5 minutes it came back on (note: bike still ran perfectly fine. No stutters, burps or farts). Stop and do a quick google and found it could be the gas cap not fully closed. Twisted it till it clicked a few times, started bike again and light off. Down the road a little past 5 minutes and thought all was good…..nope, it came back on. Now I stop and check my. Coolant, all good. Called a buddy with not much for advice. So I rode home with no troubles other than that light still on and bugging me. Figuring I might have picked up some bad fuel I topped off with premium (usually just put in regular) and an appropriate amount of sea foam. Had a ride Friday and again after 5-10 minutes light came back on. Crappy. Oh well kept on going. Every time I stopped light went out but came back on after 2-5 minutes. Eventually (being it was a nice sunny day and warm) light quit coming on and has been off since. So my question is: could something have gotten wet enough to cause the light to come on and once it dried off/out stopped causing the light to come on OR did it take that long to run the bad fuel out of the tank and that stopped the light from coming on? Curious if others have experienced this as I’m sure I’m not the only one. 2014 Honda Valkyrie black #60.
