I just realized all the wind hitting my ears was coming up the split between the duel radiators. The shield that I have does a great job with protecting me from bugs and wind in my chest and top of helmet.

I can live with it! I guess if I do some traveling, I'll need to remember to take some earplugs. I figure once it gets hotter and more humid, I may not notice it quite as much. More of a problem with faster speed.

I have constant tinnitus in my ears and after riding, it really seems to flare up more. I just bought an HJC helmet that has a zip in wrap around that covers the ears. I'm going to see how that does.

I have tinnitus from playing in bands and am very careful now about doing anything to make it worse. I wear earplugs on every ride. Apart from protecting my ears (wind noise levels can be over 100dB in helmets) I find it a lot more relaxing. You don't realise how much the constant loud noise is stressing you until it stops :)

Ditto on tinnitus, mostly in my right ear for some reason... Too much time getting blasted by sirens and airhorns I guess.

Short rides I wear earplugs. On my weekly long rides when I’m helmet-less, I wear a pair of Shure in-ear buds and listen to my tunes on my iPod Nano. If I'm forced to wear a helmet, as I will on my upcoming ride to Georgia, I wear a Schuberth, which my research found to be rated as one of the quietest for wind noise. I have a bluetooth speaker inside and listen to tunes with the helmet as well.

Breaks up the monotony and keeps wind noise at a minimum either way.

Ok! I had a gift card from fathers day and used it to get this helmet. Perfect for the wind in ears problem I was having. Not crazy about the the look but it's what I need. You can remove the ear muffs... :)
