Where can I get the black bezels?

2899 Views 10 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  KurNorock
I've never been a huge fan of chrome, and I'm finding myself getting blinded by random glare from the chrome instrument and gas door bezels.

It's my understanding that the blue valkyrie came with black instead of chrome. Does anybody know where I can find those bezels? I'd like to get rid of as much chrome as I possibly can.

Or would I be better served painting the bezels?

You could paint them with peel off paint or black chrome paint.
Several members have swapped them out.....I'm sure they will come along & post some part numbers .... going to swap out mine as well !
I, too, looked into that when I first bought my black '14. As I recall, you could just order the pieces (that you described on the blue Valk) from Honda. As I also seem to recall, they were pricey. That's part of the reason I've left mine chrome. The other reason is that I think a wee bit of chrome helps offset the chrome of the pipes. The peel-off paint is a great idea. I seen it successfully used in other applications.
I thought mine would be blinding but I dont even notice it anymore.
PS I thought at the time of my purchase I might have them hydro dipped a wood grain probably cheaper and different.
Youre better off having your parts repainted with pro paint that will hold up than repurchasing black hardware. On thing about Honda: Expensive parts.

I'm in Arizona, where even the shadows are blindingly bright.

I suspect you are probably right. Thanks.
Here are the part numbers for all the black pieces:

COVER, CENTER TOP *NHB01* (GRAPHITE
64110-MJR-970ZA
$78.83

COVER, METER (LOWER) *NHB01*
37205-MJR-970ZA
$37.52

COVER, METER (UPPER) *NHB01*
37206-MJR-970ZA
$38.73

and the ones you wanted for the gas tank. You need both pieces:

LID, FUEL *NHB01* (GRAPHITE BLACK)
17622-MJR-970ZA

COVER, FR. TOP *NHB01* (GRAPHITE BLACK)
83510-MJR-970ZA
$84.36

By the way, painting the plastic chrome is almost impossible. I tried with the valve cover trim and it peeled right off with my nail.

Thank you kindly. Those prices aren't as bad as I was imagining, though they are still higher than I'm willing to pay. Maybe I'll do one piece at a time over a period of months or something.

I figured paint wouldn't stick directly to the chrome, so I figured if I did paint it, I would have to remove the chrome coating first. Though I'm not sure what type of plastic is underneath. But I figure if the chrome sticks to it, something black has to be able to stick to it as well.
