We did another ride on Saturday I enjoyed so much I made a video out of the footage. Now I have saddlebags I took along my old Gopro to stick it on various bikes for more camera angles. Unfortunately it is one of the first HD Gopro's and it shows its age both in picture quality and in a complete lack of stabilization. As such none of the footage was used.

Still this one came out all right and its primary purpose if for me to look back on in years and remember the "feel" of it. A great ride with great mates on a great bike.

Yeah the camera (Sony HDR-AS100vr) is very good in my opinion. About the only time I am not thrilled with it is in overcast glare type conditions. The old gopro tho not so good, I couldn't use a single shot from it hahah.

Yeah not cheap but the results speak for themselves. I like it so much I just got another one second hand off ebay.

Another reason I bought that Sony was that it is "splash proof" so I don't need to have it in the case. I don't exactly know what splash proof means but check out the following video at 1:30, 1:50 and 3:39. The thing is heavy rain proof in my book. I never have it in the case and only have a lens protector on it.

Another tip for you. Whatever you buy make sure it has changeable batteries and a decent time recording. I carry 1 battery in the camera, 1 on the bike in a charger and 2 in my pocket so I basically have power to record for as long as I can ride. The batteries I have can last for about 2 hours 20 minutes each and are around 1900mah or something like that.

Also memory card/recording times are important. I have a 64gig SD card and it will do about 8 hours, 45 minutes of 1080p @ 30fps before I need to put another card in.

In short I record every bit of every ride I do :)
