With all of the recent talk, some started by Poncho, I thought I'd post this old clip (hope it works; older vid). This might give some of you who've tried to follow along those threads some kind of visual idea, or at least one guy's vision, of creating a naked Valk. Picture's worth a 1000...

I can appreciate all the work that went into it. It makes the bike look smaller but it's a bit too boxy for me.

I agree. Just wanted help some, especially some of the newer Valkyrie owners, to understand what the thinking was all about re: Naked Valks. I DO like some specific features, though. And you're right, what a heck of a lot of work! I appreciate custom bikes that really show some forethought and then carry out their particular theme, whatever it might be.

kg, that is the geeps finger prints all over that he posted something about riding nekid.. bikes? them aussies get a bit carried away at times. it must be too much sun and bad beer. https://www.f6cforum.com/forum/8-ho...yrie-will-probably-end-up-something-like.html

I did write profusely all the plastic on this sled needs to be shitcanned. that will happen only over time. current iteration is fitting this out for some long distance tour duty. later in its life after it earns permanent spot in my stable, it will get the knife and start to show her bones. till then the Red Baron has to earn her wings flying many backroad smiles. so far so good, July, I will point it north to Wyoming. just a little 10 day teaser ride ~3k smiles worth.. poncho

There is really nothing under the covers that is worth getting naked for. Not like there is a chromed out engine hiding under there. Any attempt at stripping these bikes down just looks like crap.
Much like a butterface, just leave the bag on and ride it.

Yep, the best bits already show.
anybody with a Vision and even small cahonies would rip all those covers off and replumb this motor so it hoses and wires were more discrete and pleasant to look at and not just the CF Honda hid under wraps. Custom make 2 new Intake manifolds with Side accessible Performance Air filters. Custom build show worthy 3 into 1 exposed Exhaust headers each side that merge into a single collector with left side exhaust. Hang a big honking can on it with a manual baffle tip for 2 stage performance. Get rid of the plastic wings and relocate those radiators, either a single large curved rad in front with 2 small fans ducting with side exits.. or a bigass single rad with dual fans stuffed in a left side case with discrete air induction cutouts in front and exhaust relief cutouts on the backside/ wheelside. the right side bag could be left functional , but the left side bag is just a cover housing hiding the rad. nobody would know unless you pointed it out.

there are ton of things you can do to this and any other platform if you have a vision and are willing to execute it. like all good projects it helps to make a plan. write it down. draw it out. run it by people you trust. some are worth listening to. those that just scoff at you or your ideas and initiative, mostly because they have none of their own, pay no attention to the nay sayers, they are a drag on life and will try to keep you from learning and growing from experiences, as they are not. poncho

Tried to post a video but no luck
There's a video of your bike at the start of the thread.
Looks like a motorcycle.
What's going on with the exhaust on your Valk build? I'm curious about the sound.

That looks like an older 1500 Valkyrie.
I think this site does pretty good considering there are not that many 2014-15 Valkyrie's ever sold.
