My wife and I too our bikes to Spencer, NC for a classic bike show on May 6th. Nice show....approx. 100 bikes. Great show if you get a chance to go next year. it's held at the NC museum of transportation.

Here's the bikes we took.

My 2972 Kawasaki 750 H2 got 3rd in the Japanese over 500cc class.

My wife's 1985 RZ350 got 2nd in the Japanese under 500cc class

It will be a few years before the Valkyrie will be eligible for classic competition.

Very cool classics !!
, In 1990,I remember the Kenny Roberts bike at the Yamaha dealer too(I don't believe the bike was for sale), I was looking to buy a 1990 FZR 600 parked next to it on the showroom floor in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Instead I ended up buying a brand new 1990 Honda CBR F1 later that day for $3495.

Yes, time does fly. As a young boy, I saw the Kawasaki 750 triple and was amazed. The bikes didn't survive very long. They didn't stop or turn well and they out accelerated their brakes and steering in a scary way. You have to be gentle or it will remind you why it was called the widow maker. I can remember the sound and smell like it was yesterday...well maybe last year. It's funny when some of the younger riders see it and have no idea what it is. The RZ350 was way ahead of it's time in 1985. It can still hold it's own today on a twisty road against some of the 600's. The CBX is just plain cool to look at sitting still and listen to at 9,000 rpm.
