Simple mods,without any major tools...

Here are some modifications or fixes I've done to my Valk so far...

First I've put a cell phone charger in the right box underneath the right cowling.
The whole was already pre-drilled,the socket was from Ebay...directly fixed on the battery with 25A circuit fuse.

Second mod was on the tank cover.
There were no rubber "things" grommets to lift the cover when you unlock it.
So I've put the thick rubber strip behind the hinge of the cover. Now it pops out without any efort. Before I had to lift it with nails or other key which was a big risk for chrome finish.

Third mod was anything but a mod,I simply took paracord line and made a loop so it goes snug enough around the gas tank intake.Thats where I hold the key for Corbin boxes since I don't want it on the main keys to scratch the gas cover while riding the bike.

Thats it for now.

Love the fuel door Mod. Great idea (y)
I'm having a hard time understanding the need/purpose for the fuel door mod. I turn the key, the lid pops up, and I gently lift the lid up without need for any external force or tools. What does the rubber thing do for you that isn't happening without it?

When I turn the key my lid doesn't pop up,it stays flat with the surface of the cover,I cannot lift it up with my fingernail,I must use something like a toothpick or a key which is a bit risky for the chrome finish of the lid.
Now it opens like this:

Strange. I wonder why it wasn't working as it should. You shouldn't have to do that. Maybe take it to Honda and see if they can give you some idea. But, you've fixed it, so maybe not worry about it. I hope that higher pressure from the rubber doesn't push out a dent in the cover at some point.

I put a piece of velcro on my key. Stick it to the inside of the bag.

My fuel door does the same thing. I just assumed it was a week design. Now I will have to look into it.

The reason of the lid not popping up is two holes that are missing a rubber buttons,I don't know how to name them.
They are located on the black part, under the chrome lid and they push against two little crosses/x's on the bottom part of the lid.
They fell off I suppose.
I will try to replace them if I find a good replacement.

Thw fuel door is known to stick. I have a real time TPS and i put thw mount on the fuel door to act as a handle. Amazon has any number of stick on nubs or waya to grab the fuel door without altering it beyond bassically a sticker.

The problem stems from the cable release of thw fuel door and thw spring. You can adjuat and get it to work better but it will go back after a while. Maybe some are defective.

Best bet? Get 3M double sided sticky tape and get a cool 3D emblem or say a plastic same color small piece of plastic that can be out on as a grip.

Since the Corbins in Europe are expensive as diamonds (from the German Corbin site they want 1000+ EURO without shipping cost) and I needed to do something with this original seat,I decided to modify it...I found good upholstery craftman (a woman actually) so she's done her work...memory foam is now 3 cm higher on riders seat an 2 cm on pillion...this is the result.
Much softer without loosing the look.
For the longer rides it can be doubled with air cushion.
