Morning all

I have been spoiled, my 2014 VFR has a signal cancellation from the factory and my VTX had a signal minder installed, it would cancel the signal after 20 flashes.

How come this is not a standard option on bikes nowadays 🤔 - oh well?!?

Be that as it may, has anyone installed an after signal apparatus on their F6C? If so, what did you use?

I found a Smart Turn System but they seem a bit pricy.

I wish it was - in this day and age you'd think it would be.

I guess I could upgrade to ABS but need to addition research to see what all is needed.

Yes i have tried the Smart Turn System. From what i can say it works briliantly. It cancels turn signals better than cars do. I have been using it for approx 1000 miles and I still dont know exactly how it works. Turns off after turns, turns off after switching lanes and doesnt turn off when you are standing. You can always manually cancel though.

Try to email them, you will get all the information. They helped me a lot.

I hate the signal minder as it only stays on 12 seconds. Turning off a highway or a road where you are doing a bit of speed results in the signal turning off before you turn. Anyone know how I can disable the signal minder? Maybe a fuse? Thanks.

Did you use the STS on a Valkyrie? If so, was it an easy install?
Thanks.

Unfortunately, i didn't. I used it on VTX. But i have searched wiring diagrams and i have found out, that basically all the wiring on Hondas are exactly the same. So i would tell that all the wiring is in the headlamp, you get wire colours provided by STS company, i believe they are gray, orange and light blue, and all you have to do is to find mounting spot, which can be challenging :)

Well....I purchased the STS :)

Now I need to figure out how to remove the headlight bucket with breaking the rear fork covers

Anyone that has done this would you please share your truck/tip?

Thanks

There is a fastener at the top of the rear fork cover that has to come out. It's the kind that you need to push a paper clip into the center to release its grip. (Not easy to get to) Then just pull the fastener out. Then I just pulled from the rear of the fork cover and it released pretty easy. Nothing broke on either side.
I'm at a loss to what wires to use to hook up my STS. Cut some, crimp some, go crazy some. Oh, where to start! The headlight cover was fun too. You have to pry up some at the top center to let a stop tab to go over its slot, while holding the rear of the cover up, it will slide right off.

I was the same. However now I just thumb it again automatically if the bike is at speed. It is no longer an issue for me.

Have you gotten anywhere on your install? None of the wires seem to match what they expect them to be. I know the Valkyrie is kind of an odd duck but now my bike is all over the place and I want to ride. I think the whole switch setup on the left is different from most Honda’s too.

I haven't installed it just yet, I located the wiring harness. It is actually visible and accessible with dissembling the headlight, see capture_1. Seeing that the STS device must be mounted in a horizontal position, I have been search for a place to attach the device. The only place that I have found that will provide adequate mounting space is opening directly behind the left hand radiator, see capture_2. Need to find or fabricate a bracket to hold it securely. If this spot doesn't work, I am going to place it in the compartment under the seat and tap in to the wiring harness there.

A dumb question coming. I did get the switch apart and put in the foams and put it back together.
Now...... when you turn on your key, do your front turn signals stay lit. I guess I’ve never stood in front of the bike with the key on. They do flash bright on signal. I’d hate to take this apart again.
Thanks,
Mike
