Thanks Britman. I just reacted to it by putting my foot down, just like I did last year. Same bonehead move (but not as impactful) and the bad part was I knew it was there but I just didn't pay attention. When I hit it I immediately came off the gas. This time instead of the snake being soft and mushy from sitting in the sun, it was wet from the rain. It felt like being on ice (again). The heart beat and respiration came up quickly. The guy I was riding with hit it too and the same thing happened to him, the rear started coming around. Made us wonder how many bikers had almost lot it there too.
One of the reasons why I have floor boards. But yeah, I agree with you. Putting my foot down was a reaction with no forethought, both times I did this.
