Was trying to get to my fork caps and am running into this plastic disassembly problem. It sounds easier to just slide the fork tubes out.

I installed the fox risers and didn’t need to get into any of the tuper ware.
 
Has anybody removed the headlight cover? If you have what tools did you use and how did it unsnap? Thank you :confused:
NO NO NO.
This drove me crazy til I found BSCRIVE’s advice.
After removing the rear halves of the fork top covers, the Honda service manual is BS, simply saying “remove the center top cover” as seen in this pic.

If you’re trying to get to the fork caps to change fork springs, fork oil, etc, just remove the
entire headlight assembly without taking off the chrome top cover first, as BSCRIVE describes it here.

Its a little lip, you just push a plastic tool under the chrome headlight bezel slightly offcenter from the middle on top and pull the bezel forward. It isnt hard once you understand how it works.
