After just reading about the scarcity of the taller OEM screen, which I have but don't use right now, I wondered about the potential scarcity of the BLVD screen. Two questions:

1) Does anyone know if it's a similar situation to the taller screen, "if you want one, buy it now"? I bought my '14 with the taller screen already mounted, but put it away as I don't really like screens all the time. If I have any answers to Question #2 that cause me to be interested, I'll just go ahead and get it.

2) Is the BLVD lower screen effective at all, and if so, for what? Anyone who has been riding with one on, I'd really like to hear if it's more for aesthetics or effectiveness.

Thanks!

I can't provide first hand knowledge of the blvd screen, but I did see one at the service area at the dealer the other day. I asked the service manager (who also rides a valk) if he had heard how well the small screen does. He said the other customer wasn't too impressed but it did move the wind up in the body. Really seems like it is more for looks to me. I can't see where it would do much.

If you want to sell your tall screen, let me know. I may be interested.

I did just order the BLVD screen and did not have any trouble finding it on ebay. As to part 2 of your question, I don't know how effective it is going to be - but I am anxious to find out. I might have just wasted $200, but.......I thought if it isn't effective enough, perhaps I will add one of those Puig or MRA spoilers to the top of it and see what happens. I saw some pictures elsewhere of that set up.

Please post your impressions of it once you've had a chance to put some miles behind it. I don't want to get one if it's only an aesthetic. Trying not to add weight pointlessly. Thanks, and hope you end up liking it.

SSMD You really have to call them... A month ago I my dealer tried to order Tall Windscreen from Honda for me... the next day they kicked back an email saying they were on permanent back order... my dealer did a search of dealers who the system indicated they had them in stock he gave me a list of 8... On the 6th one I finally found it in NH, all the dealers said they had it in stock but once they went back to get it... no luck the dealer in NH indicated on HIS system he only saw 2 in the whole country and his system also indicated they were on permanent back order. Note some of these were Honda Dealers other were must-brand power sports dealers... I am currently having the same issue getting the riders backrest

I rode for the first time with the new BLVD screen. When I saw the small box size it came in, and then how small the shield physically is, I was pretty pessimistic that it would make any difference at all. And while I wouldn't call the installation "hard", it did seem pretty cumbersome for what it is.

Anyway, back to the point - It does make a positive difference for me. Especially under 50 mph. So, no regrets on my purchase. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a life changing experience or anything, but it was definitely a less strenuous ride fighting all that wind on my body the whole time. It did not put airflow over my head, so if that is your goal, I don't think its what you want. Nor did it quiet my ride any. And if you want something to really put on a lot of highway miles with, I don't think its what you want. But for me it is an improvement and I don't feel like I wasted the $200. It was a less fatiguing ride. I will enjoy having it on the bike. I think it does what it was designed to do. Now, is it worth $200 with the other available options out there that might be superior? I don't know. If I start riding more highway miles than I do now, perhaps I will try one of the spoilers on the top of it (maybe the MRA x-creen tour), and/or I think Gustaffson makes some of their screens (<15”) that use the same hardware as the Honda OEM BLVD screen, so maybe I will try one of those.

Thanks for your impressions, springTX. Appreciated. I'm not putting in the longer rides as much as when I was younger, and getting some of that wind off my chest at lower speeds sounds appealing. Sometimes I feel like I'm fighting to stay on the thing, especially riding into the wind. May go ahead and ask Santa for one. I hear he rides.
