Good morning,

I saw a '14 Valkyrie yesterday and I'm really intrigued.
I've rented a few bikes in the last 3 months trying to get a good feel for what I want to buy in the spring. So far the bike I've enjoyed the most has been the F6B.
I saw an ad for the Valkyrie from a local dealer and had to check it out. There's a lot to like about it but I do have a couple of concerns; the biggest being able to fit good size saddlebags on it. When I say good size I mean about 35 litres per side. The Hepco and Becker Buffalo bags are the ones I've got my eyes on if I can find a way to mount them. I like to do long rides/tour and have yet to figure out how to pack light.
The second concern being wind/weather management. The lower body looks to be well protected but on long multi day rides I want to keep more wind off my chest.
Before any suggests the other 'Wings, I also like the lighter weight of the Valkyrie for around town work...
I'll have a good look around and see what I can find out from you good folks.

Hiya mate. While I expect there are bigger bags I have no personal experience with them so I can't really comment. I have the OEM ones which are about 20 odd liters a side.

As for the shields check this thread for my perspective on them...

One thing I have learned through that experience is that what is good for one can be a complete nightmare for another however I am pretty happy with my setup now. If I got my jacket open I don't puff up like the Michelin Man anymore but in the rain, well, I'm going to get wet ;)
I installed the Honda tall wind shield today. It is by far the strongest handle bar mount screen that I know of. I think that paying the higher price of the Honda accessory was wise this time. 120mph no problem. Great wind protection on the 40 mile test ride. Helmet visor up the whole way. { air temp. 64F }
I have to agree on the OEM mounts. That is one of the reasons I bought the Boulevard screen. I wanted the mounts. I ended up using the whole thing.
