Need or Greed is what sells

I didn't need a new motorcycle. I already have four. But, I wanted more power. Since my local dealers were either smug or wanted full list price for a GW without taking a trade in. I decided to look online, where I found a Val for $9500 OTD. Others showed them for as cheap as $8000 but, after they added on all the hidden charges, even though they advertise no dealer fees, it still came out about the same price. I hate paying hidden charges when they bait and switch. Why start out dealing with someone you know is a liar. The Val was 60lbs lighter than the new Gold Wing. More hp, bullet proof engine, and 15k+ cheaper.
I picked up my new Valkyrie from Chattanooga Honda Powersports Incorporated Yesterday. Paid $10,000 to get it there. But, I was going there anyway. Trailered 600 miles home, went to register it this morning and found I did not have a certificate of origin in the paperwork. They acted like, you'll get it in couple days. Kind a sucked the fun out of the whole deal. Can't wait to see what this baby will do. I asked the cop, who did the vin check, if I could prepurchase my ticket.

The first ride I took on mine, I went two blocks and was merging onto a highway, looking in the mirror to make sure I wasn't cutting someone off as I rolled on the throttle and shifted. When I moved into the curb lane, I looked at my speedometer and found I was doing 122 km/h which is 75 mph in a 100 (60) zone. The bike just wants to go. Enjoy the ride.

Just hold on tight and get ready for that big grin to be plastered to your face.

I came from a pretty strong torque monster cruiser myself, a VtX1800R. The Valk though is in a different class. The power is so smooth it seems like an electric motor, until you open her up for real. First time I goosed her I got lightheaded from the instant acceleration. You’ll be amazed, guaranteed.
I have two bikes sitting at home, but they've both given me issues when riding before thanks to previous owners messing things up. I ride with the Widows Sons, and I'd hate to break down during a ride! I wasn't planning on buying a new bike because my wife and I each bought a Lexus this year, but my V-Star 1100 just won't stay running and my GL1500's clutch went out when I was riding in downtown Chicago. Clutchless shifting with a shaft drive sucks and isn't great for the bike. That night an ad popped up for a 9K Valkyrie and my wife said "just buy it," so I did! I mean, I drive maybe 3-4k miles per year and ride 15-20k miles per year, so it makes sense.

ANYWAY, I had to travel out of state to buy mine and the dealer just put a "license applied for" tag on the back, which is not at all legal.

I rode it home anyway, keeping an eye in my mirrors for cops and getting over in the right lane next to a car until they passed so they wouldn't see I didn't have a plate!

The amount of power is insane compared to my other bikes; it took a few days of seeing what the bike can do before I got used to it.
