Looking for rack to fit with Honda backrest and a windshield if someone is kicking around getting rid of one.

Does anyone make a BLACK luggage rack for the Valk? I do not dig the chrome one for my black model and want to keep the color scheme black. Honda made a very cool rack for the CTX 1300 and I would love to duplicate something like that. I just can't do chrome. A custom design is not within my abilities. I saw one from China on Ebay, for about $60, that said it was "Universal", but I don't know how that could possibly be. Universal probably translates to mean this size fits none universally.

This is kind of what I want, looks-wise.


Any options out there? I don't want anything too gaudy.

Sorry guys, you gotta do what a few of us did if you want a truly functional rack and make it yourself. Here's mine with and without a Givi V47 case attached. Case easily holds 1+ case of beer.

Curious whether it's only the chrome luggage rack that you object to or whether you plan to wage war on all the chrome on the bike. If you dig around in this forum you will see plenty of examples of folks who have taken a halfway decent looking stock bike and transformed them into rat bike monstrosities, with or without ugly customization. Good luck in your efforts.

I just think the chrome will take away from the black look of my black bike. I've never been a big fan of chrome anyway, and it always ends up rusting out/ The luggage rack on my CTX is black and it appears to be hard plastic, but may be coated metal. Anyway I like that look much better. Turning the gorgeous Valkyrie into a rat bike is definitely not going to happen with me. What does come chrome on the stock model will remain chrome for me, but I want to accessorize with a minimum of it.

Yup, the chrome luggage rack can appear incongruous. My Givi top case has a mounting plate that keeps the chrome rack largely hidden even when the top case is not being used. I suppose ANY luggage or rack spoils the lines/curves of the Valk. That said, styling is subjective and I have no business labeling anybody's masterpiece a monstrosity.
