Current bikes in the garage....
My Valk.

My Goozi

My other Goozi.

My R6.. Well....Wifey's... But I ride it far more....

Past bikes...

My CTX. Great bike. Wonder why I got rid of it.

My Rocket 3. Should of never bought this. Had it 12hours. Wrecked it. Actually, it wrecked me. Turned me away from Triumph forever.

My Street Triple. Bad ass bike. Sold it to get the Scura.

My Thruxton. Wrecked this one. A very sad day.

Triumph Bobber... I miss this....

Another Thruxton I owned. Sold this for the bobber. Custom full fairing. One of the first for a Thruxton.

Had a Triumph Speedfour like this one but can't find a pic of it...

Tell us more.
Tell us more.

I'll give you the short story.. Bought a 07 Rocket 3 with 89 miles on it in 2015. Wound up being one of the ones where the shaft bearing was put in backwards. There was a recall for it but this one never went in.
Was riding the bike home the first night I bought it and the rear locked at 60. Highsided and landed on my head and shoulder. Got Triumph and the dealer involved. Not to sue but for well... Help getting another bike....lol They basically went into legal mode, covered their tails and severed ties with me and threatened to sue me for slander...lol I let my insurance sue them.
I was so bitter they did that after me buying 6 Triumphs since 2006 I sold the rest of my Triumphs and washed my hands of them. I won't even buy a Triumph t-shirt, sticker, nothing. Lol
However I do catch myself looking at Speed Triples sometimes but will nver buy one though.

It's a bit gay, I know, but I loved this thing. It's what I traded for my Valkyrie. No comparison of course but I do miss the look of that fake 1950's Harley/*****. And so good as a city run around. Ironically, it got far more comments than the Valkyrie. Johnny Public got no clue...

That is very ugly. Glad you survived it.

Richmonder,

Do you like the ctx1300?

It's a pretty machine.
Thanks Dill Pickle!

I absolutely LOVE the CTX! I bought it brand new in 2016 at the dealer for $9000 - half the original price. It's a Deluxe with TRAC, ABS, stereo and self canceling signals. The thing is a very subtle rocket and is only a half second slower in the 0-60 than the Valk. It handles beautifully, has Bluetooth and a built in charging port. I never thought I would want another bike. But then I saw the Valkyrie... And I had to have it. I will say, the Valk is a lot heavier and has a much higher center of gravity, so the CTX is a much easier bike to ride. I also like the handgrips on the CTX better - they're kind of rubbery and not quite as thick, so I can get a much better grip on them. And the bars on the CTX come back to you, whereas on the Valk, you have to reach forward a little, which I don't like (and for that reason, there's more room on the CTX for accessories on the bars). And having that stereo and all the nice features, and storage compartments helps. I have it all accessorized with custom made bag guards, center stand, battery charger pigtail, luggage rack and mirrors on the bars. It is PRISTINE!

I love that bike so much, it is going to KILL me to sell it, but I can't keep all these bikes. One of my neighbors has expressed mild interest, but I'm not sure he has the space for it. The only complaint I have on the CTX is what everyone complains about - the suspension is harsh. But it is a lovely machine and I don't understand why it never sold better. Maybe too expensive at the outset.

I use to have a ST1300 and that group complained about the drop in horsepower and the price was a bit high,
I thought the ST 1300 was Top heavy compared to the Valkyrie
I will say the CTX is plenty powerful for my needs, though the Valk is a blast to ride. I'd be perfectly happy on the CTX had I never discovered this one. Drop in horsepower... Compared to what? The CTX gas tank is under the seat, so being top heavy is not a problem with that bike.
