Is there a way to get the key code for a bike without removing the key cylinder.

The only place I know of was on the tag on the spare key sorry mate.
Reviving this thread to see if anybody has been successful in making a duplicate key without paying a king's ransom to Honda. Thanks.
Yes just go through Ace Hardware and they will make you a key for a few dollars.
I found mine at a local locksmith, with identical black head minus the Honda logo. It cost me about $8 bucks.
I recently had two made at my local hardware store and they work if the fork is unlocked but are not long enough to release the fork lock. I ended up having two made with an eBay vendor but I had the key number.

I used that company a while back to have some extra keys made for my VTX's. They did a nice job and I can personally recommend them.

Same problem with the keys I got cut at Ace hardware. Cannot lock/unlock the fork. Do you recall if the keys from the ebay vendor had any stamped markings?

Ordered but not received the keys yet.

No markings.
No markings.
Thanks for looking. I'm guessing the vendor did a witsec scrub on the item to maintain some perceived competitive advantage.
Use lockpick tools to remove the cylinder or you can hire a locksmith for that work also.
These are the key blanks I have used. I know one is too short but not sure which one of these it was.
Key blank Acess #27 or #27R
At Ace hdw HD96P
I got keys both from locksmith staten island as well as ace hardware and both charged me the same cost for it.
The correct key is HD110P. I recently had two made at a local locksmith and they worked perfectly, including locking the fork.

I had lost a bike code last week. there was no other option to get the key code. but I hired a locksmith fort lauderdale to handle this stuff. They created a spare key code without removing the key cylinder.
Thanks.
