I'm looking for a new set of motorcycle intercoms that will work between bikes. We currently have the Sena smh10 but one of them has crapped out. I was looking at getting some new Sena's but the price is ridiculous. I hated the cardos when we had those, so they are totally out of the question as well.*
What I'm looking for is something that's really good but not name brand and something that is waterproof as well. What are you guys using?

What happened to the one that died ? I have the 10s ,my wife doesn't ride ride so I bought a two pack & split it with my brother in law. Had them several trouble free years. I bought an extra mount kit & have two helmets set up. Did a lot of research & the Sena seems to be the value king. Maybe you can find someone to split a set with you as I saved over individual purchase .....Good luck .

We've been riding with a pair of the Sena SMH10R for about two and a half years now. I listen to audiobooks on my daily commute and we use the intercom all day long when we ride together. They've put up with a lot of abuse (especially when off roading on our quads) and we stay in contact as long as we are line of sight and within a quarter mile of each other.

Not long after purchasing one of the batteries died and Sena replaced it for us, I wonder if that is what's going on with yours maybe?

I think next year we might invest in helmets (and comm units) for the street bikes, and keep these Sena's for off roading. I've been looking for something that would allow us to listen to music together AND talk (the SMH10R is one or the other). So far it looks like only the newer Sena's do that.

Just a note of caution: I tried to go cheap on a third unit (for the kids to ride with us) but the Sena I bought was not compatible with the SMH10R and I had to return it - I guess not all their products talk to each other.

I wonder if Facebook Marketplace might be a place to find something used at a lower cost?

Good luck, wish I had experience with another brand to share! I'm curious what others will say, since we plan to buy more next year.
