If you like to keep it "new"

I've found that Motul Shine and Go silicon spray keeps the black plastic components like new. I also use Autoglym Super Resin Polish on the paintwork and Autoglym Show and Shine on the (stock) seat and the chrome. Haven't decided on what to do with the wheels yet. Buggers to get at actually. Wish they'd made them matte black instead of gloss then the brake dust wouldn't matter so much.

I have only just bought Autoglym resin polish for dark colours, because my bike is black and shows every mark (swore i would never buy a black bike ever again but hey ho........its worth it) Its brilliant and i would absolutely recommend it. I also like Simonitz carnuba liquid wax, its mega easy to apply and polish off and leaves a great clear glossy shine. I use WD40 on the plastics and they always look great, applied by a soft rag or microfibre cloth.
How about ceramic coating the bike to include the wheels? I have seen a lot of people doing that to their sport bikes. It might be a bit more expensive at the start, but I have it on my car and it has really cut down on not only the time it takes to clean, but the expense of buying the waxes and polishes.

I used to do that too but have found that the silicon-based sprays keep the new look longer (WD40 is petroleum-based). They also make the plastic "slippery" which seems to help keep dirt from sticking to it. When I first bought the Valkyrie I wasn't very impressed by the amount of plastic but I'm realising there's plastic and there's plastic. This stuff is pretty impressive!
I use zymol on the paint works great mine is black
you have your shiner bikes and then you have your every day rider bikes. some have a few in betweens. the shiner is like your sunday go to church shoes that you keep polished in the closet and only bring out when you want to impress the ladies and maybe God will think your living clean. but we know different.. then there is your day rider which is like your favorite pair of sneakers that you do ALL your dirty work in and can run like the wind thru every back alley. its not that you don't care, just not so much what it looks like as much as it has to function every time you need it and it doesn't require a **** load of maintenance. It may not be your best looking show bike, but it is your favorite.. Show dog vs Huntin dog.
