After two weeks and a few hundred miles I couldn't stand looking through the windshield anymore. I cut four and three-quarter inches off and went for a ride the bike feels the same on the highway the wind still goes over my helmet but now I can see over the top of the shield. I don't know how I feel about the way it looks ill have to get use to that but, I do think I'm happy with how it is now.

Looks better, my first bike came with a tall windshield but I still got a LOT of buffeting. Didn't think about cutting it down, ended up buying a stealth slipstreamer and it worked well enough and looked better.
On my valk I have a 12" gustafsson which I like. Hardy any buffeting but it does create a lot of wind noise. Not sure what I'm gonna do about that yet.

What did you use to cut it? I'm tired of hunching down to look through mine as it is right at my eye level.

Tape up both sides with blue painters tape be generous. I covered both sides of the windshield/tank with blankets scribed my line on the tape with a pencil and used a jigsaw with the laminate blade then I used 2000 wet dry to polish up the edge. You need a lot of tape to protect the windshield from getting scratched by the jigsaw.

Prgrmerrer,My windscreen was tall also, to remedy that made some adjustments. Slid the windshield support brackets aft 1/2 inch from brake and clutch reservior, next removed windshield and ground to contour the bottom of wind shield with head light nacelle. Cut the top shield bracket and removed 1/2 inch then drilled new mounting holes . On bottom shield supports made two rubber shims 1/4 to boot shield at aft. angle. Lastly poitioned shield !/4 inch from head light nacelle then carefully drilled new holes. Debur holes to relieve stress on wind shield to prevent cracking. The result is windshield will be about 4 inches lower and angled to match the front fork rake. It is a little work but not difficult and the results look good HH F62014

Looks good, I hate tall windshields, it doesn't stay cold long here so a windshield isn't needed much. I have a tall one I was trying to decide whether to use or not, I think it is going to meet the blade!!!!!

Looks good, much better than the original height. I ordered the secdum tinted, cant wait to install it.
