Any serial numbers greater than 2000? Don't recall seeing any. (My '14's in the mid-700s.)

How do you check the build number from the serial number? last 5 digits?

Mine is a 2015 build and I know there were 2016 builds sold in Aus.

Ive always thought there were probably 2-3 thousand of each color made… can’t envision Honda tooling a line up at a factory for any less than that number

I'm pretty sure 2016 is the Australian import date, not assembly date, which is represented in the VIN # by an E for 2014 or an F for 2015. This was discussed at length on a couple other threads here, like VIN #'s - Honda Valkyrie F6C Forum I'll paste some of it below.

These bikes were only manufactured in 2014 and 2015, as indicated by an either an 'E' or an 'F' in the serial number, for a total run of only about 3,000, most in 2014. Some countries other than the US also have a stamped date that some speculate is an export or import date. Here's more about the meaning of your serial number, found on the left side in front of the tank if you turn the handlebars to the right:

VIN# JH2SC68N1EK000658 (SEQUENCE NUMBER IS 0658)
J – JAPAN
H – HONDA
2 – 2 WHEELED VEHICLE
SC68 = GL1800C
1 – CHECK DIGIT
E – 2014
K –PLANT = KUMAMOTO, JAPAN (M = HAMAMATASU) (S=SUZUKA)
000658 SERIAL NUMBER FOR THAT YEAR


The highest reported number on multiple discussion sites, so far, is EK001850 for 2014, and FK000228 for 2015.
