Hi folks,
My name is Emir and I live in Turkey :)
Hope everyone knows where the Turkey is :))
I'm 37 years old and for 9 years I ride motocyles.
I've tried lots of bikes. Sport bikes (Honda CBR600F), Naked Bikes (Suzuki GS00) Cruisers (Honda Shadow) Scooters(Yamaha, Honda, Vespa) etc.
Nowadays I'm riding an Italian beauty. Motoguzzi V7racer "15.
Which is:

I just bought this bike for 3 months and rode it for 5.000 km.
This is a retro looked (I made lots of customization also) nice Italian bike and really fun to ride.
But sometimes it looks small to me. 48hp is enough for me but I think I need a bigger bike.
Mostly I commute in city traffic jam. So this bike which weighs 180kg is just like a bicylcle to ride. Lıght, easy to manage, no parking problems, fuel economy, beatifiul custom and retro look, chrome gastank is really an eyecatcher.
But anyway I desperatelu think need a more width and height bike.
I thought about Ducati Diavel. Which is common in my country. Lots of horsepower, italian clean design, quality made. But width is ok but the length of bike is still less.
I think about Yamaha vmax. Whic is not many sold in Turkey. Very very rare and too expensive here. So I dont know it much.
I dont wanna ride a harley night rod because it's big but not very efficient to ride.
I need a bike which runs smooth and corners well.
In these days I began to think about Valkyrie.
In Turkey Goldwing is very popular. But mostly businessmans which is more then 45 buys it. And they use generally on long trips.
In fact goldwing can not be used to daily commiting for sure.
But maybe Valkyrie can be.
Is it possible for daily use for Valkyrie with 340kg weight ?
I 'm 6 feet tall and 90kg heavy.
I have a strong build. But I wonder this bike may not be suaitable for city riding ?
Yesterday at dealer I sat on the bike and felt real good. Just like on a comportmant of a train locomotive. Very large long heavy steady bike.
And build quality is good. in fact there is too much plastic on it but it'a Japanese bike and it may be considered normal.
In Turkey :Honda is well known brand in motocycle industry. Because of the high price Valkyrie is not common. So riding it in city will be original thnig for me and for all the others :)
Please give me opinions.
Should I gşve a try to Valkyrie ? Will I be regretfull in high city traffic with it.
Safe riding to everyone.
Emir.

Welcome, this is a slow moving group so it can sometimes take a few days to get a response.
While I think the Valkyrie is a bike that can do it all, there are some things it does less well than other bikes. I would probably not buy a Valk if I had to ride through in congested city traffic on a regular basis.
Have you looked at an Indian Scout? It's about 250 kg and about 100 hp. It will be a decent performer without being as heavy and wide as a Valkyrie. Or maybe the Yamaha Bolt? Yamaha also has a great reputation for building durable and low maintenance bikes. Are you able to test ride bikes before you buy them?

Thank you for response.
I don't think ot Indıan because in my country Indıan is very new brand and service can be real problem. Also I'm not sure about Indıan's reliability.
Honda is well organised in Turkey and the brand has a problem free image on minds. Also Indıan scout is a cool looking bike but it is classic curiser. Valkyrie is futuristic and the six cylinders have a spell on me.
A friend of mine has a Goldwing and when he starts the bike the smoothness is really good. However lots of people can find this maybe a little soul free but i don't care it so much.
Also being wide is maybe a problem in city but that attracts me too. It looks like riding on a locomotive when I sit on bike :) That's fantastic. I can't imagine how it feels good on the ride.
Yamaha Bolt is very known bike here but it can be only a commuter. Too narrow bike and powerless.
My need is a real big bike. Otherwise I wont change my Guzz to a small normal bike except Valkyrie.
By the way there is no test option to Valkyrie :(
Tomorrow I will visit a friend who lives 250km away from my city who rides a "15 Ducati Diavel Dark. I will test his bike. Tomorrow night I will type my impressions.
And soon I will try to test a BMW R NineT too.

Buy the Valkyrie, it's a breeze to ride in traffic, low centre of gravity is the key. Bit wide sometimes for lane splitting and occasionally the radiator fans get a bit annoying. Too easy to ride slow though.

thanks for courage. As I read the engine placement helps it to move slowly well balanced. As I watch viedo goldwing riders can lean real sharp. Also I may be considered an experienced rider so I think I can handle it.

by the way why the fans can be annoying? The width or the heat ??

Plus 1. The Valkyrie is very easy to control. I'm only 5"8" and I have no problem what so ever. Fantastic Motorcycle. Best all around bike I've had yet and I've had a bunch. Buy it you'll be happy. :)

The fans are not annoying to me. They keep the heat off of the rider and throw it forward, awesome engineering. The sound of them fans is satisfying because I know they're keeping me and the bike cool.

Thank you for all answers.
a few days ago i had a chance to test ride a 2015 Ducati Diavel Dar which is a friend of mine.
Sure it is a muscular and powerfull bike. 162 hp is more than enough.
But something did not suite to me. The engine runs aggresively and loud. Also heat is too much when you stop at traffic. The performance and cornering ability, riding mods, brakes are all good but not my type.
I need a bike which looks like a suit then jeans and t-shirts. I need a gentleman bike which decently runs fast, corners well but much more important looks classy. Valkyrie must be the solution I hope.
In my country import taxes are too high so a 2016 brand new valkyrie costs approximately 24.000 USD. Which is a real deal for my budget. so I think i will buy a second hand 2015 model.
Nowadays I'm trying to sell my MotoGuzzi. A friend is considering to buy it. Hope maybe in a few days i will sell the bike for 12.000 USD and get some bank credit and buy my Valkyrie.
To all bikes whic I had never been stock. I always replaced lots of parts and accesories to fit myself. But I dont want to make changes to Valkyrie. at least I will be sure that bike will fit me and wont change it at least for 3 years. Maybe I can try to ride it with solo seat and a little windscreen but that's all. I will not spend extra money to accesories. I hope :))
Wish to post my new bikes photos here soon.
Pray for me :))
