I've been riding since I was 10 years old. Bought my first bike when I turned 18 a Kawasaki KZ650. Since then I've had dozens of motorcycles. I usually ride them for a few years then get something else. My current bike is a Triumph Trophy SE, all the bells and whistles..ABS, Traction control, elect adjust suspension, adjust windscreen, integrated stereo, Bluetooth, etc.. Love the power and handling of this bike, it's a great all arounder..So why consider another bike (the Valkyrie)? I'm looking to tone down my riding a bit the SE tempts me every time I get on it, LOL and frankly I don't need to do something stupid. I just had my 54th birthday and I'm not as flexible as I used to be I'm looking for something lower, more comfortable something simpler but customizable to my liking. Had a Triumph Rocket, rode the Diavel, I've ridden the Valkyrie and wow! Power, handling, comfort, are all there. Not ready for a Goldwing yet and mostly ride solo so it seems like the right bike at the right time. We will see.....sure is a sexy beast!

Currently live in Menifee, just north of Temecula in Riverside County. Lots of nice roads right in my backyard. BTW picked u the Valkyrie today, already have 130+ miles on it.. Going riding tomorrow if it isn't over 100 degF.

The faster you go the cooler it gets!
LOL actually the faster you go the hotter it gets! Air causes friction which causes heat..... LOL

The WORST heat I have ever been in was riding back from Yuma AZ on highway 8 in the middle of summer. I was on a Triumph Rocket III. That thing had a GIANT radiator and the exhaust was right by your right leg. OAT was about 110 degF and the heat from the engine and radiator was amazing. It must have been 130 degF sitting on that bike. YIKES! Nothing like the F6C that's for sure. Now I just pour water on my head, wear a bandana soaked in water and the wind makes it feel 20 degrees cooler..

Welcome! What year KZ650? I bought mine in 78' It was blue with wire wheels. The custom was silver with mag wheels. I asked them to switch wheels, which they did. For all I know, I might have had the only blue KZ650 with mag wheels! I really loved that bike!
