Have to laugh at all the negative comments on the other boards about the new Valkyrie. Some comments are

It doesn't deserve to have the Valkyrie name.

Honda has betrayed the old Valkyrie.

Honda has it's head up it's A## with the new Valkyrie.

Seems the older Valkyrie owners would want to welcome the new F6C and it's owners into the fold? They even verbally attacked an owner of a 2014 Valkyrie on one Valkyrie board.

Personally I'm glad Honda got away from the Harley clone look and did something fresh. To say the lease the bike looks different.

Old or new ride what you like but don't attack others for their choice of bike.

Ever time a new thing comes out there are people like this who hate on it because it somehow doesn't live up to what they think the old one was. They are just haterz.

At the least they should keep their comments directed at the bike itself and not the poor guy who just bought it.

I get a lot of positive comments on the bike. Even had a Harley rider swing around a gas station to come have a chat with me.

thats unfortunate. What kills me about these hardcore traditionalists is that clearly you were'nt paying the bills. While not exactly analogous to the Valk hate, the jeep traditionalists hating on the new baby jeeps designed specifically to bring more clients on board seem to be forgetting that IF they were paying the bills proper there would be no need, but they weren't ;)

But hey I suppose they would be happy if Honda never advanced past the CB750.

Tools and Twats ;)

Well as much as I love the new Valk, if they ever reproduced a retro Valkyrie like they did with the CB1100 I would be first in line to purchase one.

I am not really sure that I like the older Valkyries. I think they look a bit overdone.

Though when I went to look one up I found this one from 1998 and it looks pretty cool. Is this something like what you are thinking?

Yea that is the original Valkyrie, they also made a version with hard bags, and the Valkyrie Interstate which had a front fairing. I don't know the reason they stopped production. If I were to guess Honda didn't want to bring the new 1800 motor over to the Valkyrie platform. They made the Valkyrie Rune for one or two model years that had the 1800 motor but it was very cost prohibitive.

I find it funny, I have a hard core Harley rider, that wouldn't be caught dead on a Honda, that really wants to ride this bike.

I have a '98 blue standard, and a '14 black non-abs. I love both of them. The '14 definitely rides better and has more power. But, I think there may be a bit too much Tupperware.

convert the man! In terms of plastic I'd say the only reall addition/difference is the side rad pods, or faux pods. I wonder, do they come off/how does it look?
