I needed a rear tire for my CTX1300. Found a Michelin Commander II on Amazon for$171. When I went to order it the price was $200(200/55/17)
Found a (175/55/R17) for $56. Couldn't resist. Got it today and I like what I see. Will update in a few months.
Found a Michelin 200/17 at
Rockymountainatvmc.com
For $176
Looks like the price is rising.

Finally had to replace factory tires at 6000 miles. The car tire definitely handles differently. you have to muscle the bike over in a turn. hope i get used to it soon.

Achilles ATR-k Economist All-season Radial 175/55-17 Amazon about $$48
I let the tire pressure slip down to about 30lbs and the ride and cornering improved. Went back to 40lbs. Now, when the ride and cornering improve I know to add air. Happy so far.

I have about 5000 miles on my Achilles 195/17 and I cannot tell any difference in handling from my 200/50r/17 on my CTX1300, except my 200/17 Commander II is wore out at 7000 miles. What brand and size CT will fit the Val that is available NOW. Achilles is no longer available.

I got down and measured the distance from the sidewall of mt 175 55r17 to the driveshaft. The clearance is only about 1/2". The clearance is about the same on the diameter. I don't see how a 205 would fit without rubbing.
