Good question: why the name of Valkyrie is not used in France? Here the bikes are sold with a F6C plate.
A Valkyrie is a Germanic goddess of fallen warriors. Valkyries induct the dead into "Valhalla", the hall of the heroes slain in battle. Then there is the Valkyrie-opera, composed by Hitler's favorite composer, Richard Wagner, and "Operation Valkyrie", the failed plot to kill Hitler.

Considered that France had been in three wars with Germany within 70 years (1870/71, WWI, and WWII), Honda's marketing department may have thought that a reference to Nordic mythology could possibly turn off their French customer base.

Anyone in France should be able to order the side covers in black or chrome with Valkyrie on them, if they wanted. Part #86831-MJR-670 is for the emblem only, 2 for $26.64 U.S. or 83700-MJR-670ZB for the set of ballistic black side covers $112.48.

Honda should never have called them "Valkyrie"….just F6C. They probably would have sold better because no-one would be comparing them to the original. New era, new bike, new name. But it's all a bit academic now of course :(
