Good question: why the name of Valkyrie is not used in France? Here the bikes are sold with a F6C plate.
A Valkyrie is a Germanic goddess of fallen warriors. Valkyries induct the dead into "Valhalla", the hall of the heroes slain in battle. Then there is the Valkyrie-opera, composed by Hitler's favorite composer, Richard Wagner, and "Operation Valkyrie", the failed plot to kill Hitler.

Considered that France had been in three wars with Germany within 70 years (1870/71, WWI, and WWII), Honda's marketing department may have thought that a reference to Nordic mythology could possibly turn off their French customer base.

Honda should never have called them "Valkyrie"….just F6C. They probably would have sold better because no-one would be comparing them to the original. New era, new bike, new name. But it's all a bit academic now of course :(
