how do you remove the upper largest plastic forkcover (right side)?
I just finally broke down and ordered a paper shop manual, but until it gets here...

The throttle cables go from the throttle grip assembly through a black steel wire loop just under the headlight top cover. Where the cables go through the loop has developed quite a squeal when the bars are turned.
I don't like squeals.
I've got a rubber grommet I'd like to try on that steel wire loop, hopefully without removing the windshield. And without my usual cussing and prying with a screwdriver and without removing the headlight cover, if possible. Any suggestions?

Spray a little silicone on the cables. Work back and forth, Wipe off any excess.

will try that.
and if I really need to get to that area, I found, I can unbolt the 2 mounting screws under the instrument pod and move it back an inch or two.
