I have a long, oval head and was reading on various forums about the different helmets that are best fit for this shape. No-one mentioned the Shoei GT Air but after trying many other brands, I found it fit very well. Plus I was able to go down a size from what I had been wearing previously.

This is interesting to me because Revzilla lists this helmet as "intermediate oval," not "long oval." Lidpicker.com shows it as neither round nor oval.
It just goes to show that you really need to go try the helmet on.
I recently tried a half helmet listed as "long oval" by Revzilla but it wasn't even intermediate oval; it was very round compared to my Arai.

"You need to try the helmet on"

Exactly. The store I went to was amazing. If you're in Perth, Western Australia, go to Dale Britton Motorcycles for helmets. The guy knew what constituted "fit" and what didn't. He made me try so many helmets on and looked very closely as I pulled them every which way. Finally I said "I think this one is it". He said "it's not bad but it's not perfect. Go next door where they sell Shoei and try the GT Air in XL. I think it's what you need". I was ready to buy a helmet he had and he sends me to another store because he thinks what they have will be better for me! Amazing service. Ian Bateman is his name. If you're in Perth, go see him. VERY knowledgeable. I hope he didn't get into trouble with his boss :)

Of you are truley a long oval head, you need to try an Arai Signet Q. I have about 15 helmets of different makes and models....and models and the Signet fits my long oval head perfectly. You can also try LS2 helmets.

Cool, thanks for the tip. Problem has been getting some of these helmets in Australia. And they have different names here just to make it more confusing.

Yep, agreed, my full face is a Signet Q. Finding a long oval low profile half helmet has been my problem.
I have a Scorpion half helmet that fits perfect. I am away on vacation, but will try to get you the model when I get home next week. It even has a drop down visor. I don't wear it very much, but when I do, I have no complaints.

It can be difficult in other countries. At one time I was going to buy an Arai helmet from Japan and have it shipped. Then someone told me the helmets in Japan are really more roundish, regardless of the model. I ended up emailing Arai Americas and asking. They confirmed that 90% of them were roundish. Very few stay in the country that were long oval. Is there an Arai dealer near you? Once you have the model name in Austraila, you just need to find your size. Sounds easy...lol. Good luck.

Just looked at the scorpion helmet and there is no model number listed. I think it was an EXO C110. Only a half helmet, but another option.
