I have a 1998 Valkyrie in very good condition with only 26,000 miles. I has developed a flat spot between 2,500 and 4,500 revs, ONLY, if I snap the throttle wide open. Under normal riding conditions, the flat spot does not occur.
The standard air box opening has a piece of foam on the upper side of the air intake opening which in time deteriorates and disintegrates, thus varying the amount of air being sucked in the air box/carbs.
I believe that this is a common problem to Valkyries although I have never come across it in problem forums; has anyone experienced this problem and is there a solution to it?
