I'm not here to explain my position of not selling out of country. Unlike you I think it does make your sale a bigger hassle and many would agree with me. My thread was placed to sell these items, not debate whether I should sell outside the US.

It's your stuff, sell it however you wish. I've never tried to sell anything outside the country so I'm not aware of whatever extra hassle there might be. You made a public thread. I'm just commenting. You're welcome to ignore my comment, or enlighten me, but I have the right to call bs when I see it.

Your calling "bs" about something you have no experience or real knowledge of. The method of selling these items as conveyed by the buyer wouldn't have met the paypal seller protection.

I offered you the money and asked about shipping to North Dakota. I said I would import them into Canada through my employer. There is no hassle to you. It would be the same as if I lived in North Dakota, but you seem to think you would have a problem with that. People from all over the world are on this site. I have made purchases through PayPal many times in the past. The money comes directly out of my account and is instantly converted to U.S. funds and goes to you. I have never had a problem with PayPal or their protection policy. Perhaps, in the future, let people know you will not deal with anyone but Americans.

So it has nothing to do with the buyer being outside the country, but his terms. That's different, but still, worth knowing. You could have just said that in the beginning. I'm not that familiar with paypal policies, and don't really like them as a company, but just speak the truth. I think I understand the issue now, though.

You reside in Canada, you wanted me to send these items to an address in North Dakota. Paypal requires that the any item being sold must be shipped to recipients address to meet paypal seller protection guarantee. Furthermore there are additional risks involving customs lengthy holds or loss, and risk of loss dealing with other countries postal systems. I'll happily ship any item to anyone of any nationality as long as they reside the US, even you with the chip on your shoulder. It is about more than "paypal policies" because out of country selling does present greater risk whether you believe it or not. Now please find another thread to troll

We never got to the issue of how I was going to pay. As soon as he was aware I was in Canada, he declined to sell it to me. As I said, if you don't want to deal with anyone outside the U.S., state it in the ad. I have no problem spending my money elsewhere.

I purchased bags from Corbin, highway pegs from Rivco for my bike. They are both American companies and had no problem shipping my items to Pembina. You assumed I would use PayPal. I prefer a money transfer from my financial institution to yours and do not expect anything to be shipped until after you verify you received payment. I did that with a truck I bought in Florida and a 5th wheel trailer from Minnesota. As I said, if you don't want to sell outside the U.S. please state so in your ad. No chip on my shoulder, like I said there are others out there that will sell me what I am looking for, just thought I would deal with someone from one of the Valkyrie sites.

Sorry your feelings got hurt, but maybe sell your stuff somewhere else then.

Your right, once I knew you were located out of country I was not interested in selling because of the greater risk. Then your added strategy of mailing to a different address in the US was even more convincing to me as I only deal with paypal. Btw my feelings weren't hurt, I'm not whining about not selling my items to you.

The reason for using a U.S. address is that many businesses offer free shipping within the lower 48 states, but as soon as it is destined for Canada, shipping is no longer free and they add exorbitant customs fees. I work for a customs broker and get a cut on the fees, but I still pay the taxes due. I was asking to find out how much shipping would cost me.
