I read about a rider who had his coolant bottle damaged by something coming upfrom the front wheel and spearing a hole in the bottle.
I bent up some aluminium I found in the shed ,stuck some 2mm foam to it and cable tied it to the bottle to protect it. works really well!

I was looking at the damage to mine and was thinking of doing something. Your picture didn't work tho, from what I have read I gather it does not have the highest success rate posting something actually to this forum. I use http://s123.photobucket.com to host my pic's. It's free and it gives you the links to post clickable thumbnails to your forums posts so it is simple to use as well.
