looks like that may have moved your mirror in just a bit to make room for the bracket?

That pic is not mine. I had to move it just a tad.

I was very dubious of the throttle lock I will link below. I was more so when I "installed" it if you could call it that. Then the little rubber band that "protects" the throttle surface itself broke and I thought "typical".

The thing has been on there a good year plus now (with no rubber band around the grip) and I would replace it with the same one in a heart beat if I lost it for whatever reason. I can flick it on fast enough to give a wave or a single finger indication of displeasure. I flick it off with a quick forward "blip" and find it absolutely invaluable. Worth every cent.

These thing are not cruise control and never will be. What they do is give your hand a break on the long rides so you can flex and shake them and get back on it and lets be honest... it doesn't get much easier to "install" then this one.

Like Shrubbo, I don't use the supplied rubber band .... I just put it straight on the grip.

Works well and should last forever.

Hand made... haha yeah right... anywho...

I don't use that thumb thing either. I found it was so much easier for me to just push it down with my index finger as the thumb thing seems awkward for me. No matter, the things are worth the money, just ask my right hand on any big ride.

I use this type as well. The one I bought is made of plastic. It is cheap to buy and holds the speed perfect. The simplicity of the design is perfect. I have had it on my bike for over 3 years now and it still works great.

If I'm not mistaken, the maker of this one made a plastic version first. I bought it two years ago, still works great. I looked at the new aluminum one. A bit more expensive and doesn't really work any better, so I stayed with the plastic one. As said above, it's simple, cheap and works exactly like it's supposed to.

Thanks for the recommendations, Shrubbo and Geepers. my metal Omni-Cruise arrived and I love it. Replaced my $10 Crampbuster with a metal Omni-Cruise for $49.95 http://www.omni-cruise.com/omni-cruise-1/ and it is MUCH better, more out of the way when not in use, installed in less then 1 minute, and extremely effective, especially when you need to change the speed - just twist the throttle to where you want it and flick your thumb or index finger! Wish I had it on the last overnighter.
