Ok so I am finally getting ready to pull the trigger on a Valkyrie and I have the colors narrowed down to blue and the dark metallic red, but what color is the dark metallic red? Color being subjective, is it closer to burgundy or wine red? I have searched through a ton of pictures and still cannot figure out what color this bike is.

This is a pic a dealership sent me on a nice deal they have on a dark red one. This picture makes me think it's closer to a black cherry, which Honda made in the 2000's for their vtx bikes, almost bought a 1300 in black cherry but settled on pearl white instead. Stupid silly question, but I'm hung up on what color this is, not really wanting it to be burgundy.

Please take this with a grain of salt, Spiffer, as photos don't really show what a bike's paint job will look like in sunshine, but if you're not looking for the darker, more "burgundy" color, you may want to try to hunt down a red 2015 that was the same bike as the '14s, but offered with that brighter, (almost "fire-engine") red color for that year only. At least check it out before you pull the trigger on something that's not quite fittin' your dream! Good luck.

I’ve been amazed how even my 2015 Candy Red looks very burgundy in certain lights

Still think the dark red looks more black cherry, regardless, it's the second choice 😁

This was more in jest than serious, but I was curious what others thought that dark red color is. My bike is a very loud red right now. While I enjoy it, I am leaning toward blue on the valk, I love the blacked out parts. I will say the red ones posted here does make a case for that color! 👍

I believe the dark red metallic was a factory option in 2014 but not 2015. 2015 the red changed to the red you speak of. As always, color options could differ depending on country as well.

I'm kind of leaning towards blue, I found one, a bit high on the price of you ask me, but it's not too far from me. Just need to get my bike sold 🤔

Has around 5k miles on it, I think its around 4700 but I do not recall off the top of my head. The sellers wants 13k. Bike is not bone stock, has a real ugly windshield and highway pegs, and that's it. A dark red metallic, from the dealership that sent me that pic I posted, is around the same mileage, dealership wants under 11k, and theres has the corbin seat with passenger backrest, and a better looking windshield, but still ugly. So it's good to have choices...sort of.

You most definitely want the Corbin seat - if it has a stock seat, you will be replacing it. I think 11.5 for the blue one would be about right, may 11 even. You are going to be replacing he seat and the windshield, at minimum, and maybe the tires too...and so would any other buyer.

If those are original tires, they are shot no matter how many miles are on them. 7 years.

Are the stock seats that bad? I definitely plan to replace the stocker, the idea is my wife will be riding with me more on this one and she's not gonna be happy with an uncomfortable seat. I was thinking the seller with the blue bike needs to come down to 10. I have found a black 2014, little further away but not bad, bone stock outside of highway pegs, has 1900 miles, sellers wants 9500, I just am not big on black. Got a few options to poke my head at at least.

The stock seat is an absolute POS if you are spending more than 30 minutes on the bike...the Corbin is great, and there are others. 9500 for a 1,900 mile Valk is a steal, IMVHO

Only can reinforce the comments on the stock seat! After 20 minutes on stock seat it started to be an unpleasant ride and at 45 minutes I was ready to head home and had pain for couple days afterwards. I have had low back 2 fusions to be fair. Had a custom Corbin seat made I did 1900 miles into Rockies and Badlands on way back in just over a week. Didn't even have 100 miles into break in on the seat. I was able to truly enjoy trip without low back and derriere screaming at me in short order. Would just plan on replacing the seat as part of initial cost of bike for the enjoyment and comfort. Good luck on finding what you want! Love this bike and have had a few.

Went two seasons on the stock seat and that was all I could take. I looked for many options but Corbin was it. I believe the two options are the Gunslinger solo seat (looks nice and conforms to the rear of the bike) and Dual Tourer. I bought the Dual Tourer for my bike just because it gave me more options with the back rest. My 2014 has a custom paint job. The first owner owned a paint shop. I'm the third owner. Here's a pic of my bike. It's light metal flake with ghost flames. I didn't buy it because of the paint, but for the performance and ratings of the bike.
