I posted this on the fb page but in case anyone here doesn't read that site, anyone try making or modding a trailer hitch for this bike? I'm no kind of mehcanic or engineer but how difficult can this be?

I can only afford one bike and need it to do everything, including long distance hauls. In every other way, the Valk is flawless to me but the lack of accessories hurts a wee bit.

Shouldn't a Goldwing 1800 trailer hitch work, considering that the frames are the same? Uni-Go make a hitch, for example, and I'm sure some others do too.

Pick a manufacturer and call them direct to discuss this.
You would think so wouldn't you, but apparently it's more complicated than that. :|
Nobody makes a hitch that works on the '14-'15 Valk.
I was warned that the aftermarket for Valks wasn't near as good as for the wing but I didn't care. That was before I realized I need to occasionally do 600 mile rides, and it would be nice to just throw everything into a trailer instead of strapping it to the back of the bike. It's still only a minor inconvenience but would be nice to have 1 bike that can do it all.

Trailer Hitch available

As of about 2 months ago a trailer hitch is available for the new Valk from Classic Industries in Brisbane Australia. The website is https://www.classicind.com.au . I don't see it listed but I know they have made one because I've seen one on another Valkyrie on my recent charity ride, this was the bike used to develop it. If you plan to tow with the Valk you'll need to ensure all the lights work correctly on the trailer. I had to build a relay box for mine to get the indicators to work. I can provide a circuit with a list of parts although I don't know where they would be sourced from in the States.

I bought the Goldwing hitch and had it modified to fit (my brother has a fabrication shop, cost me a 30 pack of beer). It sits quite nicely and is perfect for my camper.
Couple pics of the Valkyrie and the camper attached. One is with the camper open and the other is on the road between Winton and Longreach in Western Queensland the scenery is awesome....... not.

Do you have any pics of the modifications or install of the hitch? Bikebear
Sorry no pics of the hitch. Basically it was cut and plates welded in to account for the difference in width between the Classic Industries Goldwing mounts and the mounting points on the Valkyrie. Really, it was a lot of stuffing about to modify the Goldwing hitch I purchased and I wouldn't have done it if my brother wasn't able to help cheaply. If I'd been closer to where the hitches are made I would have given them my bike to prototype on but it's about 1000 miles away in our state capital city and it was just too far away.

I received a reply from Classic Industries:

Yes we make a towbar for your bike. Our part no. is TH63 and is in stock... We supply with the towbar; a towball, wiring harness, fuse/holder, 7 pin flat plug, a fitting guide & a wiring guide and any nuts & bolts needed for fitment.

Thank you for your enquiry and have a great day.

One thing that was pointed out to me... The release hitch is not pink and yellow! It is powder coated gloss black.

Also, the price also includes wiring harness, ball, and shipping.

The hitch is available for ordering on the website as of today.

The install is pretty easy, anyone who has basic mechanical skills and can use a spanner can do it.
if they make it for the valk, why the work on a wing hitch?

I bought the Goldwing hitch well before they made the Valk one. In fact I had the hitch finished a month or so before they made the first Valk one. I could have taken my bike to Classic Industries in Brisbane to be the guinea pig but it's 1000 miles away which I just couldn't manage. I would have got the Valk one if it was available but it wasn't at the time.
