I stop after riding for a while. I look at it. I can’t believe it is mine. Like having a beautiful woman you thought was too good for you and she sleeps with you now.

I have to admit that I still look at with wonderment. Still trying to figure it out. It is not like another one except of course the goldwings. Yesterday I was really noticing how long it is. The front and rear wheel seem to be pretty wide apart. This is also first bike I've owned where my dress pants don't fly up my leg as long as I have feet on side pegs behind the cowls.

I was out in the middle of nowhere... truly in the sticks and saw a lady walking with her twin girls almost in middle of the two lane road. Mom was a pretty. I guess the valky is so quiet, she didn't turn around until I was mighty close but I gave them a wide berth.

I am also amazed by the turbo or electric sound it seems to have. It's just different than anything I've owned.

Also, yesterday, I got behind a guy with fairly loud pipes so kept my distance thinking... that used to be me with a few bikes that I had with loud pipes. In fact after riding several miles behind this guy, I got a little uncomfortable. I was ready for him to turn off and he eventually did. Then I was back to silent running. :laugh:

I wonder how long I will continue to adjust to it.

The reality is that we would need to be much more advanced to the point that a majority of motorcycles being sold will be elec and have been selling well for a few years and only THEN will I be able to afford a used electric bike.

Sure, I know I could get one of those plastic under 10 grand models that charge overnight and have a 50 mile range. Not at all interested!

LOL! I think I have way too much time to think. I was thinking of all the energy sources we now have and how it applies to transportation.

Then, my thoughts went back to my childhood when I played with a gazillion rubber band airplanes and decided that is what we all need. A wind up motor that can be readied each night and we use
the energy stored like a rubber band until it runs out but we will have the technology to make it last for a very long time.

But I ain't inventing it! :nerd:

just to wet your whistle. check out zero.com this is just the beginning of what is coming down the pipe. batteries and recharging will be a non issue in the near future. a paradigm shift is next. look for electric trucks in the next 2 years. not in a small way. I wouldn't mind a driverless car. It would be nice to be dropped off at my destination and have the car park itself. Now, my bike is a different thing.

this will be for urban environment where your vehicle will connect to the grid and the two systems will navigate you and everybody else in synchronous harmony. Considering how many bad drivers there are in the world and how they are most all condensed in cities, this can only be a good thing. I don't trust anybody behind the wheel while I am riding.
As for autonomous driving and riding, stay the fk out of the city and you will be fine.. for a while. yet. poncho
