Does anyone have black OEM cylinder/valve covers on their Valkyrie that they would like to trade for brand new OEM chrome cylinder covers? Thanks!

Why? Chrome is pretty... besides surely you can spray black.
Nothing wrong with chrome- the whole bike is gorgeous as is! I just wanted to go for a blacked out look and I've seen that a lot of the blue valkyries come with black cylinder covers. I've heard that painting over chrome doesn't usually come out well...don't know much about painting though

Don't do it. Visibility is the new black ;)
I have heard of a few folks that have powder coated. There was a concern about the baking temperature causing them to warp.
I spray painted with a high temp primer and high temp paint. It looks good and is holding up well.

3M makes a black reflective tape called Scotchlight that might be a nice safety addition for those of us that are blacking out.
Nice!

I just bought a 50ft roll of that and stuck some on my helmet. I'm planning on putting some on my bike too when I get around to cleaning it.

Only issue is that like most reflective media, it only reflects light directly back at the source, so unless you are in a driver's headlights, they still won't see you.

That's why I'm looking for some lights for the side of my bike. I had a guy try to change lanes into me last week on my way home from work at night.

Also, I've never liked chrome. It's not 1955 anymore and the chrome blinds me with glare when I'm going into work at 2pm. I'm probably going to try vinyl wrap rather than painting the chrome bits. Seems like a better option for this application.
