Link to the sound.
It's from a cold start.
Goes away after a bit.
I've asked around previously and no one else seems to.have this issue?
Is it just the oil pump or maybe the pump is failing?
What say you?
Thanks!

You have a buzz there that I've never heard on mine or anyone else's. That's a little concerning. I'd get to the root of that ASAP!

It sounds like something isn't getting lubrication, which could eventually cause a major failure. Might be nothing, could be something. I wouldn't rev it while it's doing that. Maybe worth a trip to your dealer to see what they say.

These bikes are generally pretty bullet proof. I imagine it's probably something minor that just needs an adjustment. But you're right - it would require an overnight. But wouldn't it be worth the trouble for peace of mind? At the least, take that video to your dealer and see if they have any thoughts. Of course they're going to say bring it in, but maybe they can give you some insight.

I think this is very good advice, Tedfeast. Depending on where you live and what access you may or may not have to qualified dealers/mechanics, getting feedback from knowledgeable people is critical. I suggest going in person to any shop you are considering and show them the video in person. You'll learn a LOT more that way than just sending a link to your video to anyone and hoping for a response, and you'll save unknown time and hassle doing the "overnight required" diagnosis from dealers who really aren't interested in helping you in the first place. And, they will get a chance to size YOU up in the same way and for the same reasons. If you come across to them as a sharper than average rider who is willing to pay for their help, you'll get a faster and (hopefully) better response than trying to do this type of thing by phone or online. I also think that your comment about the noise going away after it warms up is probably a key clue, as did Richmonder.

As has been said, these bikes have a great service/performance history. I doubt that this will be serious enough for you to get rid of your new bike, heaven forbid, but you won't feel right about it and enjoy it properly until you get this issue addressed. Good luck, and please keep us all posted.

Listening to that sound again, it almost sounds like a vibrating piece of plastic or hard rubber that gets pronounced enough to be audible at certain RPM's. I didn't hear it until you revved the engine. I'm curious if this occurs only when revving in neutral, or if you also experience it while in gear and in motion. Knowing the answer to that may give you some direction. The fact that it goes away after warming up complicates the equation, but to my ear it sounds less mechanical than mere vibration. Could be something as simple as a loose pin fastener on a radiator shroud. If you do decide to check with Honda, it would be helpful to know the answer to that question before you go in.

It also has a similar sound to a timing belt rubbing in a car.

I have a feeling that will be something hard to diagnose because of its limited duration before warming up, plus the difficulty in isolating the source. But to me it's cause enough to have checked out.

P.S. Kugo, I fixed your two previous posts.
