I've noticed when I come off the throttle in some of the gears I get a tiny popping, or almost-popping similar to a certain extent to the popping you get when you have altered the airflow on a carburetted bike and haven't changed jet sizes. I am guessing that Honda programmed the ECU to do this to give this sound, because it is very pleasant.

I was noticing the bit of decel 'pop and burble' too. I don't know if it's ECU programming (supposedly there are no changes from the big 'Wing) or just the shortened and freer-flowing mufflers. Definitely gives it a little more hint of hot-rod-ness.

I actually hate the popping on decel I got on my old bike, and removed the pair valve to minimize that noise. I realize even a perfectly tuned system will have some popping, but it still annoys me. I haven't noticed much on this one, at least the sound is much smoother and the ride is so much nicer in every way.

It's a very subtle pop on the Valkyrie. It really is more like a burble than a pop. Just one more little bit of character I love about this bike.
