I had the MRA wind screen mounted but decided to try the Slipstream B-Wing 18" shield. I tried mounting it with the stock hardware, but as others pointed out you would have to trim your instrument housing. So then I mounted it with the MRA hardware, and so far it seems to work fairly well. Much cheaper alternative to the Honda hardware. The MRA mount is only 48 dollars. I think it looks pretty good.

Beautiful bike Jim, the shield looks great I like the angle it's at. Seems to look like it belongs on the bike and follows the lines of the bike much better than some other brands which appear more as if a barn door was strapped on the slick looking Valkyrie. Love it.
How difficult is it to remove those bags? Can the mounting hardware stay in place once removed? Can you buy them color matched?
Very sharp bike.

Corbin matched the color pretty close. The bags themselves are very easy to remove in minutes. But the mounts would take me about a hour to remove.
As far as the MRA shield I think it looked pretty good, and it kept the wind off of my chest. The wind hit the top of my helmet without any buffeting. I still got a lot of wind around the sides. I thought that a larger screen might give even better protection. I have rode it once since installing the slipstream, had it up to 80 mph, and the shield was real stable with the wind hitting the top of my helmet. If I lean back I get a little more wind, and if I lean forward it becomes dead calm. So far not sure if it is much better for wind protection, but I think either way they both look good.

Hands down, best looking functional windshield yet on the Valkyrie. If it takes the wind off my chest that's really all I'm looking for
(or I'd ride a Wing)
Do you look "over" the shield with the 18" slipstream?
Thanks

Windshield: $55 + S&H if ordered as a replacement glass only. +$10 if you want it tinted (very light tint)

1/2" Plexiglass drill bit: $10

Once my windshield came in, the OEM mounting holes did not match up with the aftermarket mounts. I had to drill 2 1/2" holes to use the mounts. Used a plexiglass drill bit, covered area with masking tape, and drilled away. No issues at all. Started with a tiny pilot hole, maybe 1/8". Make certain the spot you drill is well supported, such as up against a scrap piece of wood.

Installed the setup last weekend, took about 20 minutes once the windshield was prepped. Had to stop to get longer winshield mounting screws, as the mount kit was made for a thinner shield w/out washers. Added about $3 to total cost.

1st drive, noticed less wind on my body, zero "flopping" of the windshield (my old setup was very unstable due to poor design), with minimal turbulence. Adjusted the position/angle of the windshield after this ride.
2nd drive, virtually no turbulence and much less wind noise on helmet. Works GREAT. Highly recommend. Will post pics soon.

BTW, I'm 5'8" and am clearly looking over the windshield. There is plenty of adjustability to get the windshield right where you want it using this aftermarket mount.

Thanks for the tips guys. I ordered the tinted 18" B-wing sans hrdw for $72+shipping, and the MRA mounting kit for $55. Both should be in next week. The Fox 2" risers will arrive first. Your pics of the completed unit will really help. The 90 mile break-in ride home yesterday was enough to convince me that these were the first two mods required. I'll figure out how to post pics and create an avatar sooner or later.

I just installed this same windshield combo and I thought the screws would be too short also. I found, however, there is enough compression in the rubber grommets that allowed me to catch the threads into the nuts with the accompanying screws. I actually used a screwdriver to push the nut firmly into the bracket while I used an Allen screwdriver pushing in the opposite direction to compress enough to grab. It worked after a bit of calm fussing. I would definitely recommend an Acrylic still bit instead of wood or metal bit. The bits are cut at an angle which is best for plastics. The windshield works fantastically!

First, thank you for sharing the parts & photos. I just wanted to add that these aren't the right mounts for the Valkyrie. The Valkyrie has 1" bars, those mounts are for oversized 1-1/8 & 1-1/4 bars. I ordered these before the bike arrived, used a piece of rubber to take up the gap, and it's not solid enough in my opinion.

The 7/8" - 1" mounts are Item: P305342 SKU: 1038683:

Edit: Sorry everyone. I had to remove the URL's from both Sensei's quote and my response. Both the oversized & 1" MRA mounts are available from revizilla, just be aware of which you're ordering.

Where can you buy the SlipStreamer B-Wing-18? The website says they don't sell direct to customers, and I check each of the dealers they suggest, and I don't find it there either. I see the Spitfire model on eBay, Amazon etc, and some dealer websites, but not the B-wing?
