    Hi

I'm very interested in the Memphis Shades batwing on our bikes. I've several of them on different cruisers. I actually sold one just recently because I thought it wouldn't work on the Valkyrie which I purchased just this spring. I'd love to see some close up pictures of the front where you made room for the side radiator covers. Or direct me to where they are on this forum maybe? Anyways nice job on the Batwing.

Emily. everything I did was with off the shelf stock parts. I did make a small metal bracket to mount the light. It can be raised or lowered to fit the final height of the fairing, which I moved several times. The windshield can be ordered in different shades of tint or clear. a flat shield is taller than this 9" curved unit. Memphis Shades makes quality product at fair price. I've put 6 on different bikes. many fabricating fitment. Their stock mounting kits work perfect, get the 45mm fork brackets. Unless you do professional form fab, you will not make a better shield. I just tested this on a 4k smile ride up to Yellowstone and back 9 days. write if you have questions

thank you for the reply. do you have risers on your bars or are they factory? reason is i am thinking about getting my shaping foam out & glassing my own design but **** that's gonna take a little while. it seems that the way you went will take ahell of alot less fabrication not to mention the mounting brackets i'll have to build. i'm thinking i might take what you have done & raise the fairing mount & marglass the light surround to take up the gap where the headlight would be lower than the fairing.that is only if you don't have risers. thank you very much for being so thorough all your info will help me in going in a certain direction.

Memphis Shades model MEM7011 ($299) and a trigger lock mount system for the earlier version Valkyrie ($149?) that mounting kit comes with oversize upside down leg clamps, so you have to order a new set of 45mm clamps ($69) also. and then add your favorite wind shield clear or tint, straight or curved. ($99). So the whole thing was about $630'ish.. I put a new headlight assembly from JP cycle ($89?) and added a brite LED bulb kit ($79) cyclegear.com . I took off the stock plastic headlamp and fork shrouds and fabricated a mounting bracket for the new headlight. then mounted the new Batwing Fairing. I had to CUT the new batwing so that it could turn and not impact those two stupid plastic angel wings that cover the radiators. I was not happy doing it, but the alternative was to ride w/o the wings until I could fabricate new radiator covers that didn't interfere with the Batwing when turning full left and right.
