Cobin seat mount

I bought a used Corbin Gunfighter seat and it looks like new.
The question I have is when I mount it the rear was about an inch higher then the fender.
I pushed it down and put the bolts in and it all looks great but Boy! it's a tight fit and you could hear some binding.
( Yes the front tab was in the mount)
Is that the way the seats fit?

Same with mine. Works and looks great though. Much better than the stock seat.

Thanks I just don't like the sounds when I was bolting the seat down.
