Floorboards w/Heal and toe shifter?

Been looking at a bunch of heal toe shifters. Does anyone have a link to good black ones? Also looking for instructions on how to install to see if it is something I can do on my own.

They say heal toe shifters tear up transmissions. Riders shift too hard and cause damage. I have boards & toe/heal on my GW. I shift gently and the boards are in the way when I stop. Plus, they rub the ground in sharp turns.

I had them installed for an hour, took them off and sold them. I bought a used kuryakyn set off the Goldwing forum. They were bolt on

I cut the heel part off my old bike after 12 months. Got in the way of being able to move my foot back. Much happier afterwards.

Honda will void your transmission warranty if you have heal/toe shifter.

Really? I had not heard that. I will have to find out before I do anything. It would just be nice to have a bigger area for my feet.

I have the Kuryakyn heel toe shifter with the Kuryakyn Ribbed Floorboards. They work great for me.

As for warranty. If you have tranny problems, just remove the heel toe shifter before you bring it in.

There is lots of debates going on for years on the heel toe shifters and possible problems they cause. Many bikes have them from factory without any issues. Some Goldwing riders have had them on for hundreds of thousands of miles without any issues. Many believe that it is a tranny design issue with our wings. I have had mine on since I got it and I have never had any issues. I love it and I wouldn't ride without it.

I called Honda America about this voiding the warranty and it does not void the warranty. They said if the heal toe shifter causes the problem it won't be covered, but if its a Honda part issue it would still be covered. A little relief perhaps.
