UK prices holding up

Just a passing observation. Our bikes are rare in the UK. Fact. There only seems to be 3 or 4 available for sale at any time and a nice black one recently sold within a couple of weeks. I have just spotted a new advert today, for a 2018 plate burgundy one with only 900 miles on it that MUST be a 2014 model. Its up for 13.5 k. Now that is a few hundred pounds MORE than the recent ones I have seen. I presume the dealers know what the market will stand. makes a nice change.

When these bikes were released a few years ago wernt they $24.000 USD in the UK?

Directions ? That's only the Manufacturer's opinion of the way this should be assembled.

Hi, new forum member in the UK. Not yet an owner, spending some time studying posts on the forums before making a move, hopefully by the end of the summer 2019. Selfishly hoping the UK prices follow the US trend!
Do you have any idea how many are in the UK?

Richard

Hi Carcathan welcome to the forum.

Did a check on this site, gives you some idea.

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=honda+f6c

However guess that includes the older Valkyrie due to the time line.

My understanding was every Honda dealer in the UK was given the option of taking a couple of bikes to sell.

Don't know how many Honda dealers are in the UK and don't know if they all took up the offer.

I don't think the prices will drop to anywhere near the US market.

I did quite a bit of research last August prior to buying mine. Firstly I don't believe there are any unregistered ones left at all in the UK now.

There was only one 2015 red one I found with no miles on it but I didn't get on with the sales guy so although I wanted the bike I didnt want them to have my money., That was up for 15k. That was sold a couple of months after I saw it. I have a good relationship with a well established Honda dealer near me and know them well enough to talk about stuff without any BS.

So I went hunting again and found mine, a black 2014 with only 16 miles on it and paid 15k give or take a pound. They were 18k new as far as I can make out. So I was reasonably happy with my deal. This dealer was great and it was a much nicer experience. Find another as they say......

If you are looking now prices seem to vary between 12k and 14. As you probably already know they were only made 2014 & 2015. In the UK colours were black or burgundy for 2014 and a much brighter metallic red for 2015.

No matter what registration plate a bike has it will be one of these years. Mine was registered in 2016 BTW.

I looked at this forum before pulling the trigger on mine, its not perfect this bike but its pretty **** close. The main downside is lack of aftermarket stuff, I guess there is no money to be made offering such things. The only mod I have done is to drill out the two plugs in the exhaust silencer (each side). Just lets a bit more low down gruffle out. It sounds like no other! Not loud, just very meaty.

Its beautifully balanced and handles so so well. Remarkable really. If you are lucky you might find one near you so go take a look and get a feel for it. I find mine extremely comfortable, I'm 5'11 and about 18'stone. No problems with the seat at all, some owners do change theirs though. Personal taste.

If you do have questions throw them up, you will get honest replies I am sure.

Cheers Jon

wow! $19000 US money.

I had to look it up. They are very rare in my area which is nice because everyone wants to know what it is.

I'm loving mine but still perplexed at the same time. I look at it and wonder about the design. Lots of crevices for bugs and dirt. Plenty of plastic.

That's ok cause digging the engine, the smooth ride, handling for a big bike.

Wow. I guess its supply vs. demand for the folks in overseas/UK.. Weve still got some dealers in US selling brand new untitled ones for ~US $8500. Im not sure how much it would cost to ship a bike overseas but guessing $2500? Would it make sense for those in UK to buy a US bike and ship?

I think you can only import a used bike or one already registered in the US.Not one in the crate.Unless anyone knows any different.
I always thought if anything happened to mine i would seriously look at importing a second hand one due to price difference.

Guys in UK!

For what it's worth... I got mine from a previous owner with 2000 miles on it for $8000. This one was on Craig's list and you could possibly find one(in US) and import cheaper than one from a dealer there. I don't want a cheap bike, I want to get my moneys worth and I truly believe the newer Valkyries are worth whatever someone is willing to pay but you should be wise.

At those prices I would consider buying one from a dealership here in the US and just having it shipped to the UK. I'd think it would still be much cheaper than trying to buy one there. Plus, we still have "new" unused Valkyries in dealerships here for just barely more than they cost used.

That being said, I have no idea how much it costs to ship a motorcycle across the Atlantic. So maybe I'm just stupid.
