Loud exhausts days are numbered

I see Paris and London are installing "noise cameras" that (a) read the decibels, (b) take a picture and (c) issue the fine automatically. Loud pipes save lives? Maybe. But we're gonna have to get used to riding quiet. If that's too dangerous for some I guess they'll hang up their keys. Personally I never rely on being heard regardless so it won't make any difference to me. Electrics will make all this a non-issue eventually anyway.

I don't like loud pipes so really like the quiet woosh of the Valkyrie. They are fun, sure, but I rarely ever hear anyone but sport bikes in any amount of time to react to them in traffic. When at the track or other event I appreciate how loud they are as an addition to the spectacle and performance of the machine. On the regular streets, no so much. I love electric bikes too, but just wish they were cheaper/better range/more versatile for me. Soon, though. In-wheel electric hub motors are going to reshape how bikes and other small vehicles are designed and I can't wait to see the crazy crap we'll get.

it's all about Revenue generating. you already are and will always be not in compliance to some of the millions of laws already on the books and more to follow. Electric vehicles will be tagged for too much RFI emissions or some other arbitrary operating issue.. No matter how much money you funnel into Gov they always need/want more. insatiable appetite for spending on worthless causes.

No, it's about PITA riders who don't care about anyone else.

why be so selective? most riders are a PITA to somebody. in particular are those that ride their racerist bikes on the public roads like they were on their own personal formula one race track with little regard for others or the laws.. PITAs are everywhere, even there. Gov is just skimming off the top for now on the more pronounced easy ones. one day soon they will get around to fining you for scrubbing you tires and grinding your gears excessively.
