let'em see you - strobe light mod

Ever enter an intersection and wonder if the guy in the pick up truck really see you coming?

I have the Shark Lights driving lights. When you first turn on the key, they do a three pulse strobe then stay on. I connected a single pole duel throw (SPDT) relay to the jumper wire for these lights and a momentary switch on the left handle bar. If I press and release the switch, it opens and closes the normally closed relay for the power the lights. That causes the lights to go into the three pules strobe again.

Here's a demo video.

Awesome Jim. I'm good mechanically, not much electrically!

Looks interesting but is it legal for street use? I'd check that with your State Police Vehicle Inspections section. I have the Kisan Headlight modulator on my headlight which is legal. I carry the Federal DOT paperwork with me just in case I run into a LEO that does not know the law. Do not want your bike to get the hook like an old coworker's Goldwing when he had illegal lighting. Just wondering..... Good luck.

No it is not legal for street use in my state and probably not in most any state.
My thought is, if I'm going through a busy intersection, i'll take a chance on violation over the chance of a car pulling in front of me. Hopefully an officer will understand it was for safety and not for illegal intentions. But with that said, if I see the cop at the intersection, I'm not going to push my luck.

I have put 2 front / 2 side / 2 back ..all amber strobes. literally police edition. They have given me a peace in mind when riding. People see me right away. MUST HAVE. ALL LIVES MATTER.
