2014 Gas Gauge Problem

Hi,
Had to leave bike parked for a few months recently and now the gas gauge is going nuts. It looks like something from star trek or SG1. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I ran the tank down to 1 gallon and filled it and it had no effect. Can't attach the video of how the gauge is reacting, but is is starting in the middle and radiating the bars outward and then repeating the pattern nonstop.. Thx in advance for your help

I don't have any specific troubleshooting but start at the battery by cleaning the terminals, associated connectors and grounds to the fuel gauge in case some corrosion has set in somewhere. A failing battery could cause strange electronic issues. Break out the wiring diagram to see the routing.

Let us know what you find so that the rest of us can go straight to the problem when it happens to us ;0

You might want to check the connector for the gasoline tank sensor. It's located at the bottom right side of the tank toward the back end. You'll have to go through the tedious task of the tank removal procedures to get to it. You don't have to actually remove the tank, but enough to lift the tank up high enough to get to the connector. I would disconnect it, inspect both ends for corrosion or dirt and clean it out. Reconnect it and check the gas gauge again.
